As a musician who views the music of the 'Classic Rock' era as some of the best out there, I know all of these album covers, and even have a few in the original format. Barring the conversations about better sound quality from vinyl, I would love to see the medium come back with a bang so artists can make more complex work without having it shrunk down or compressed.
That being said, a friend of mine's band is releasing a 7" record. Not quite as cool as the full 12" LP, but a start. The artwork, however, has yet to be picked, but I hope it is something that embraces the larger canvas.
yes yes!!! my thoughts exactly!!! hate the cd format--LOVE the vinyl--if only for what the art (significantly) adds to the album of music!!!! the Stones covers were really great too. this format was an artists dream...
love your new look (via pic on blog) sam!! and intrigued by sewn art behind it..
A few thoughts about art in general, and art where ever I go.
