It's good to remember that when Sultan Mahommed Ii requested the Venetian Senate to send him a good painter, they dispatched Gentile ith two assistants to Constantinople....it qS from DiovNNI Bellini that Durer learned his vibrating reds and blues.Rememberthough it was Venetian artists who learned something from th Flemish painers through the agency of the Sicilian, Antonella da Messina,who also worked in Venice.
